Tony Hawk Circuit Boards Skatepark Playset
Introducing the Tony Hawk Circuit Board Skate-park play-set & remote control skateboard!
f you love skateboarding you are in for a real treat! With this playset you have everything you need to create your own mini skate-park to play with your miniature skateboard that is controlled via a battery powered infra-red remote control.
The remote control has four buttons, which each control one wheel meaning you can pull of cool stunts as your board skates around the skate park while. The skate-park components include stairs and a rail, a roll in ramp, quarter pipe, flat bank, and an outer and inner bowl giving you plenty of area to try cool stunts around the park. The pieces clip in together so you can change the park around to make a new circuit or buy extra components to increase the size of the skate-park.
The skateboards have real grip tape on them giving them a realistic feel, and the wheels feel a little rubber-tackiness to them too and grip really well. The boards have removable watch batteries underneath the skateboard, which are pretty cheap to replace.
You can buy additional skateboard designs that come with a remote control if you want to change it or race or play with someone on the skate-park. We have found, however, that they are a little fiddly to construct. The wheels have four screws that need screwing it. There is a tool provided, but just note that due to the parts being so small, it can be a little fiddly to get them on.
To turn the skateboard on you slide it forward on its wheels until you hear a little sound and then you’re ready to go skateboarding! It’s worth knowing that the controls are tank controls, which means that left is right and right is left! Quite confusing at first, but the more you play with it, the easier it gets to control. We kind of wish they had just stuck to the normal left is left and right is right rule as this would have made it a lot easier to control from the start, but this is how it’s made.
There is one solution, which is to turn the control upside down, but this can interfere with the infra-red and lose connectivity, so we think it’s probably easier to get used to the way the controls are set up.
Overall we are really impressed with this skateboard playset. It’s made to a high standard of quality, everything works well together, and it is addictive to play with! If you’re interested in getting one you it for £39.95 from www.red5.co.uk and the recommend age is 8 years and over.
